Vexillum

Vexillum is NAVA’s quarterly 32-page full-color magazine devoted to contemporary flag scholarship, current flag news, and information about NAVA and its members (ISSN 2577-5650).  Printed copies are mailed to NAVA members as they are released.  Electronic issues of Vexillum are available to members (with log in) and are open access after two years.

Articles/papers on all vexillological topics are welcome submissions for Vexillum.  There is no minimum or maximum length. Citations, if used, should be formatted according to the Chicago Manual of Style.  Either notes or a bibliography is acceptable. If using notes, format them as footnotes, not endnotes.  Please embed any images within the Word file, and provide images files as separate attachments or provide a list of links to images sourced from webpages.  High-resolution images are best.  Photos of physical specimens of flags are often preferred to drawings or digital graphics.

Vexillum does not have a formal peer review process, but articles may be reviewed by members of the editorial board.  Please submit to vexillumeditor@nava.org, who has final approval over the finished article.

The most recent two years of NAVA publications are available only to members.  Sign in (at upper right) or join NAVA for access.

Back issues of the print edition may be purchased in the NAVA Shop
