CANNON RESEARCH GRANT

The North American Vexillological Association invites researchers to apply for our new grant for research on flag-related topics. The Devereaux D. Cannon, Jr. Grant for Research in Vexillology supports original research in various aspects of flag design and usage in North America. This $500 award is given on an occasional basis by NAVA to individuals pursuing research which advances vexillological knowledge and meets the grant criteria. The grant is named in memory of Devereaux D. Cannon, Jr., a NAVA member who was an avid flag scholar and author of several books on flags of the American Civil War.

Details on grant program and procedures for applying are available through the link below. Additional questions can be directed to the chair of the grant committee at vp2nd@nava.org.

The deadline for submission of grant applications is June 30, 2011.
