Flag Conservation Committee
NAVA actively promotes conservation, preservation, and restoration of historic
flags by raising and granting funds for museums and other repositories, and
by lending its name in support of these efforts. NAVA's Flag Conservation Committee
began work in 2001. It awards the now-annual Grace Rogers Cooper Flag Conservation Grant, which has supported the following flags:
2002: General Purposes. Museum of the Confederacy, Richmond,
Virginia.
2004: Hardee pattern flag (the 5th Tennessee). Tennessee State
Museum, Nashville, Tennessee.
2005: 20-star US flag. Old Capitol Museum, Jackson, Mississippi.

2006: 35-star US flag. Fifth Maine Regiment Museum, Peaks Island, Maine.
2007: Federal-era "Support Our Constitution" flag from late 1700s, Masonic Library and Museum of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
